I decided I was just going to have to take it apart and quilt it again. Well, I've gotten the taking apart done, now I have to figure out how I am going to re-quilt it. I don't know if I want to use fleece again and chance it melting again or if I just want to do a standard quilt sandwich. It probably took me about 10-12 hours to take it apart, but I really like this quilt, so it was worth it.

Saying a prayer for Joe - I know how a bad back can make you crazy. Mary, I love this quilt - I've never heard of that happening to fleece before, but so glad you were able to get the stitches out. This quilt is just brilliant!
I would go with batting and cotton. I made a baby quilt with polar fleece backing lately and I can't say I like it much. Cotton is so much easier to work with too. None of that stretching.
I really like this quilt also, so I think it was worth the effort...but of course, I wasn't the person taking it apart!
I wouldn't chance doing it again in fleece. Maybe with some flannel, with some batting to make it really warm.
How about using flannel on the back?
