Quilting Almost Done...and Design Wall

I feel good! I bought a book a while back from Suzanne Earley. It's called Meandering Magic. I read her blog regularly, and she had a sale on her book, so I bought it. I'm so glad I did. I got this quilt done in one day...almost. I still have the borders to do, but the main part of the quilt is done. I really like the way it turned out. It's not great, but for a first time trying the technique I'm pretty happy. The first photo shows you the back. Yes, I used yellow thread, but that's so the front would look better.
The second picture  of the back shows the texture a bit better. The purple is fleece, and it wasn't too bad to quilt on. The tension was off a bit, but it works. I think once I wash it many defects will be less visible. I tried to get a picture of the top outside, but it was a bit too breezy to get a good one. This is the best one I could get. The color in the first pictures is much closer to the color of the fleece than the second one. You can see how the fleece looks against the quilt below. The colors aren't right, but I've found it very difficult to get blues and especially purples to look right.

If you want to see what's on other design walls, check out Judy's blog.

I have never used fleece for a back. was it difficult to stitch through? I am not sure about it. I like it, but not sure it would be easy to do.

What a fun quilt. It looks like one of those perfect snuggle on the couch quilts.

Nice and bright! The person who gets the quilt won't care if the tension was a little off. Great job and you will keep getting better.

I took a class with Suzanne at MQX a couple of years ago and then, of course, bought both of her books. You have done a great job of learning her techniques: I have been much slower but still learning.

Fun and happy quilt! Good work on the quilting, which to me is always the hardest part. I agree with you on the colors in photos--very difficult to get purples to look right.
