Design Wall Monday

Yay, it's been a while since I've had anything to post. I just need to add outside borders/strips to this. A thin purple and then the wider green and the top is done. I went the original colors and I like it. I couldn't find any more of the yellow fabric, so I bought something close. If you look at it closely (not in the picture, but in person)  you can see the yellow strips going down the length of the stack n whacked strips are different, but it's good enough for me.

That is so pretty and I love the layout. I would have never noticed you had different yellows!! They just sparkle and shine, nice job.

Isn't it interesting how we often come back to your original idea? I suppose it is good to try alternatives and come back knowing it's the best choice . . . but sometimes, I wish I'd just trust my instincts and run with it right away.

I love the look and feel of this quilt, not sure if it's the setting, colors or the combo. It works well.

Are you hexagons all pieced? It's looking good. Sometimes we just have to improvise.

Mary, your quilt is lovely. I'm never much bothered by substituted fabrics as I think most times it adds to the quilts charm :)

Mary I really like your s-n-w setting. I have a few set of blocks in my UFO bin. Maybe one day I set one like yours, in columns. That's an excellent way to use an odd number of blocks too.

That's a lot of s&w's. I have never done one but they sure are pretty.

Oh Mary this is SO pretty - good choice on the sashing! Congrats on learning German, btw, let me know if you find a good audio program, we're in the hunt for one. My youngest wants to learn and I'm not happy with the words he's picking up online at random. A-HEM.

What a great thing to do with all those leftover one-block wonder blocks, of which I have many! Great quilt!

Look at all the comments! Wow. It does look good and I'm glad you like it. I just love stack and whack. Those blocks are amazing.
