Design Wall Monday-New Project

I held out as long as I could.I borrowed a Accuquilt Go cutter from a friend and bought a tumbler cutter. I got the idea for the quilt from Elizabeth Hartman. She has a really cute free pattern on her site, called the New Wave Quilt.

I bought a few 1/2 yard pieces to supplement colors I already had. I like the colors I chose, and I have enough cut to make one more top. I played around with using black for the sashing, but decided I liked the white better. I may do the next one iwth black sashing just for a change.

I only have two rows done so far, but I've taken a picture and played with it in Paint, so you can get an idea of what it will look like when it's done.

To see what others are doing, check out Judy's blog.

Every time I see a great quilt like this it makes me covet the Go cutter. Christmas is coming, maybe Santa will be extra nice this year :)

This is so cute. Hum, who do I know that has a Go? Any one close? nope. Not a soul. Sigh. Really like this little guy. Bonnie in Va.

Very clever Mary! I saw the picture and thought I could cut those with my tumbler die and then I read and you did!!! Love the color combination. I think white makes the colors more vibrant. Love it!!!

What a great idea for a variation on the tumbler quilt. I love your colours, and the way you alternated the direction of the stripes in the pink fabric

How fun to copy in paint and see a finished quilt before you get that far. I like the way the white makes the colors stand out.

Isn't that beautiful! I love tumblers and have made one small project from a Halloween charm pack, but not in this arrangement.

That is such a neat looking quilt - I love the colors you've used! I'd try it but my piecing days are numbered. I got the Liberated Quilt books from the library, I think that's more my style, lol.

I really like what you have on your wall. I played with a GO this weekend: really want to win one and then I can do a tumbler quilt, too.

I am loving this quilt. Good idea to use the tumbler block for a template.

Hey, Mary - what a neat idea borrowing a Accuquilt Go! Maybe I'll suggest to our guild that we consider buying one to rent it out with proceeds for the club.

Love bright quilts.
